What can students learn from strategic board games? Research shows many benefits, including development of skills in cooperative teamwork, math theory, creativity, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making. And it’s fun!
This great workshop series introduces students to gameplay strategies in two separate introductory sessions Nov. 19 & Dec. 10, then guides them in designing their own board games in a 3-day workshop January 7, 14 & 16.
Featured board games for Gameplay Strategy in this workshop series include Ticket to Ride and Pandemic.
All participants must pre-register. Please fill out a new form for each student that you are registering.

$25 for November 19th 3-hour workshop
$25 for December 10th 3-hour workshop
$75 for January 7th, 14th, 16th 3-day workshop

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Joe Wasserman is a PhD fellow at WVU. His background includes teaching board game-based courses covering economics, history, and geography. He has taught these experience-based courses through The Center for Gifted in Illinois and Saturday Academy in Oregon.
Other instructional experiences include coaching fencing in Oregon and teaching a large lecture class at WVU.
